Clinical Application Specialist

Our client a multinational medical device company are looking for a Clinical Application Specialist to join our Structural Heart team in support of product commercialization for their device being developed in Galway. Successful candidate will develop and leverage deep clinical knowledge to provide value to customers and raise the capability of Associates through formal clinical training, customer support, regulatory and product surveillance activities, and diverse contributions to business priorities. The clinical application specialist will contribute to the development of training materials as well as provide training and support to doctors, clinical researchers, hospital staff, R&D Team and Distribution network. You will be also commercially responsible for the structural heart business in Ireland.


  • Developing and maintaining a deep understanding of clinical use, needs and trends through direct interactions with physicians
  • Creating and delivering product/clinical training and workshops to customers and Company Associates
  • Providing case support for complex procedures or clinical studies, including responding to field associate, International distribution network and physician inquiries
  • Supporting regulatory, marketing and product development activities, in-house clinical evaluations, and study protocols
  • Supporting product surveillance and medical device reporting

  • Degree in Engineering or Science OR Science or Nursing,
  • PLUS a minimum of 2 years’ clinical experience (i.e. in catheter lab, operating room, or clinical case support) Successful experience working cross-functionally
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills for technical content
  • Read, interpret and communicate scientific or clinical publications and data
  • Be flexible in response to changing product and project commitments
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Influence internal and external partners
  • Adapt to continual changes in travel schedules (for example, to support emergency clinical cases)
  • Apply medical, surgical, and interventional skills and terminology
  • With cardiac applications
  • With engineering & technology used in structural heart therapies
  • In the operating room, catheter lab, or radiology departments, especially related to
  • cardiology
  • Prior experience with fluoroscopy, and/or echocardiographic imaging
